GameType:: Vanilla
Map Type: Archipelago - Snaky Continents - Huge
Players: Greyfox (India) Manesni (Persia) Random (China) Trigger (Germany) Roosevelt (American AI)
Victory Cond: Conquest, Cultural, Diplomatic
Speed: Epic

Day 1.
It is the dawn of man. The nation of India rises fast to quickly become the cultural envy of the world, Stonehenge is completed in the Indian capital and the Indians begin to forge a lead in culture, religion and research. The nearby Persian empire got off to a rough unforgiving start in the snowy wastelands and traveled far from their homeland to forge a new colony that would become the peaceful neighbors to mighty India. On the other side of the world the industrial powerhouse of china was not far behind. With their high production levels they spread and dominated their otherwise empty but resource laden continent, it is said that they constructed a monument they refer to as the 'Oracle' which induced visions in the Chinese people allowing their technology and research to accelerate. Germany like Persia, also met with slow beginnings. Attempts to expand too quickly crippled the German economy leaving them forced to befriend the neighboring Americans who had spread over and dominated a large amount of the available land.

Day 2.
It is the age of the sail. India and Persia sent out explorers in their newly crafted sea faring boats. India puts the superstitions of the people to rest by being the first to circumnavigate the world, proving it's spherical nature at last. Persia discovers the Germans and Americans quickly, along with numerous islands and new continents to explore and colonize. India meets with the Germans soon after and befriends them with trade. Giving a struggling empire a small boost. It is not long before the Chinese, Germans and ofcourse Americans set sail themselves, maps are traded among the civilizations and for the time being, there was peace.
...However this was ended shortly. The Indians encountered the Chinese and recieved less than a friendly reception. The Indians made a point of watching the Chinese and their ways, although no hostilities truly broke out until China attacked an Indian caravel, the caravel fought back actually defeating the attacking galleon in a tremendous feat of strength and courage against impossible odds. But sadly they did not make it back to Indian shores as another Chinese galleon finished what was left of their weakened crew. The caravels motives for being in Chinese waters were questionable.. but what was not questionable to India is that this was an act of war. And war the Chinese shall have. The Indians set about mobilizing their forces quickly. Very quickly. Almost as if they had been planning an invasion for some time.. they had ordered their Persian allies to produce a fleet of galleons by which the Indian troops would travel. Ever content to please their powerful allies the Persians quickly produced the required vessels and India loaded a strong contingent of knights, catapults, and most of all, their brand new legion of musket men made available by the Indian's quick discovery of gun powder. They landed on the Chinese shores and quickly overpowered what was once a burgeoning city. The Indians showed no remorse to the Chinese people and burned the city to the ground. The Indian troops marched on but their overconfidence was their weakness. They were far from their homeland and Chinese troops quickly swarmed around the invaders and put every last one of them to death. A lone knight was able to reach and discover the Chinese capital of Beijing but he too was quickly defeated.
The Indian empire was confident of it's defenses and prepared to make a second and stronger attack with their improved rifling technology, when the unexpected occured. China launched a devastating raid on the nearby Persians. India sent aid to their neighbors but they came too late as China's knights laid waste to the Persian capital city and another northern city. Luckily for the Persians, with the aid of the Indian riflemen and the Persian defenses, the Chinese knights did not get any further and were killed before they could retreat. However Persia had been left in a crippled state and struggled to rebuild what had taken it so long to obtain. Meanwhile a naval war was occurring on Indian and Persian waters, frigates and galleons exchanged cannon fire and eventually the Chinese were expelled back to their homeland. The warring nations take this time to catch their breath before the war continues.

Day 3:
It is the age of war. As Indian galleons sail towards Chinese land seeking vengeance for their fallen Persian allies the Chinese ready their defenses producing many a cavalry unit to face off the invaders. Meanwhile an armada of German ships arrives unexpectedly in Indian waters. The remaining Indian navy grows wary and commands the German ships to leave or else their presence would be considered an act of war. The Germans ignore the Indian demands and proceed to the shorelines, the Indian navy immediately launches an assault but the German retaliation was fierce, destroying every last Indian vessel. After their successful campaign at sea the Germans landed grenadiers on Indian shores and proceed to loot and destroy many towns on their way to the Indian port city of "Goldport", however they could not breach the cities strong defences and their land campaign came to a very abrupt end.

Meanwhile America continued to grow in land and power which began to worry the other nations, however most had maintained that America were a peaceful civilization and they were no true threat to anyone else. Time would tell. Indian vessels finally arrived on Chinese shores, taking them by surprise they quickly overpowered a city and reduced it to rubble. Much as they had done in the past. However, similar to their last invasion of China the troops were swiftly taken down by an influx of Chinese cavalry who had just not come in time to save their city. India declared peace with the German empire begrudgingly, never forgetting their attempted invasion and began to suspect they were conspiring alongside China against the Indian people. Persia remained much on the sidelines of the global conflict as they continued to grow and recover from the Chinese invasion, while India saw now as the time to form a new colony on a far off island. The island was south of Chinese continents and was dangerous to colonize but gave a powerful strategic advantage. India arrived at this new world and founded three new cities. Only to discover that others had their eyes set on the island aswell. Indian vessels destroyed a Chinese transport bearing colonists and civilians who were evidently preparing to found a colony aswell, it was also not long before Indian scouts revealed the presence of an American city on the island. Not wishing to provoke the Americans unnecessarily in the midst of warfare the Indians did not act. China noticed the colonization of this continent far sooner than India had hoped, and began to prepare an invasion fleet to take the land by force. Germany also had a foothold in this new continent, having signed a defensive pact with the Americans the Germans relaxed in their safety from Indian invasion.

India rushed reinforcements in the form of machine gunners and infantry to defend the new colonies, they arrived just in time as a Chinese galleon fleet sneakily landed troops onto the island soon after. Indian ships never spotted the approach of the transports but were able to destroy them before they could flee. Cavalry surrounded the colonies and began to launch assaults. The machine gunners held the cavalry and grenadiers at bay but began to fatigue under the pressure of the enemies numbers. Luckily for the Indian city, the Chinese army began to feel it's losses and settled for pillaging the country side. The city was damaged but not taken. Reinforcements soon arrived and the Cavalry eventually fled into the safety of German territory. India began to step up productivity. It needed more man power if it was to win this war. Factories were erected in cities everywhere at the expense of the happiness and welfare of the people. India used it's access to oil to produce powerful destroyers which controlled the sea. They would bombard Chinese cities and transports would drop in troops who would continue to burn down more and more of the Chinese Empire. The tide of the war shifted firmly in India's favor when India developed it's armored tanks. Far superior to any military weapon the world had yet to see. While limited in number, these tanks were deployed in Chinese cities left and right. A message from Germany to China was intercepted by the Indians that finally confirmed their suspicions that they were working alongside China. Although not wishing to provoke the Americans, the Indian thought it best to go to war with Germany. America responded with an invasion force of its own, however they had simply lacked the numbers necessary to do harm to Indian cities.

Germany's colony was destroyed, German soldiers pushed a blockade of the Indian colonies halting production and starving the people, India could do little to respond at this point as it's forces were busy in China. However, the war against China was quickly being won. The Chinese forces were massively overpowered by the superior technology and though they fought back with everything they had. Their capital was eventually taken, and with all the other Indian conquests, burned to ashes. Seeing China fall, the Germans felt they no longer stood a chance in this war and submitted to India. Persia seemed to have submitted to India from the beginning, they and India would continue to live peacefully. All that remained were the Americans. India had just developed the technology of nuclear weaponry, and while America had the resources, they simply did not have the technology to stand up to India's war machine.

End Result: India won by surrender of other players.

It was pretty damn fun, I quite like Epic mode. I got scared my forces weren't gonna cut it a lot of the time and started to try and head for a cultural victory. But I think the Tanks really won the day in the end. GG all and WP. Apart from maybe Manesni for selling out so easily Razz

Something tells me I won't last long enough to get tanks in the next game..
